Welcome to the CES Leeds summer school! We want you to have a great time and learn how to speak English, and find out more about British culture. In lessons you will meet new students from across the world. During the course you will make new friends and discover more about other countries as well as England. Lessons are all different and you will have fun learning new things. Our teachers are friendly and want to get to know you. At the end of each week, you will complete a project which you can keep and share with family and friends when you return home.
In your first lesson you will learn about British Culture. Lessons can include history, food and drink, sport, the arts, and British people. In these British Culture lessons, you will practise a range of skills including speaking and pronunciation, language and vocabulary, listening, and reading and writing.
In your second lesson you will focus on the wider world! You will learn study skills for your future, and you will learn global skills. Global skills are designed to help you use English to communicate with new people around the world. In both classes you will learn to work in groups and help each other to understand about the different countries and cultures you come from and what makes them special
You will also have project lessons! These project lessons are fun and mean you can be creative. Each week there will be a new project, and you will work in groups to learn and research about the topic. On Friday in the second lesson, you will present your information and watch your classmates as well!
